Helms Deep Captain Builds

Grimberg went through the full gamut of emotions after seeing the class changes in Helms deep but is coming round to the new setup. Certainly some flexibility has gone but changing traits while adventuring means a better chance to adapt to circumstances like instance wipes. He must admit to logging on pre HD just to give his last non-fellowship buff with a wistful sigh. He wont miss having to keep a buff stick and standing around every 30 mins rebuffing everyone!
Here are Grimbergs initial builds inspired by Furtims Post. He gets a 2nd slot for lifetime member and bought a third so can go fully down each line.
DPS build is Grimberg’s solo build and is pure DPS, Already had a 5k+ devastating blow :). Grimberg is a Shadows Lament fan so this will be his standard build.
Captain Lead the Charge Red Traits
Healing build is untried as yet.
Captain Hands of Healing Blue Traits
Tanking Build includes some red line for DPS to generate more threat & get Telling Mark. Expecting this to be useful when doing a threat swap with the tank using Threatening Shout to bump up the tanks threat level now we have the new threat system.
Captain Leader of Men Yellow Traits

Grimberg is back

ScreenShot00049
After a long break from adventuring and a brief trip to Wildermore, Grimberg has returned to adventuring with the lure of some Epic stories he might actually recognise!
So he has made his way to the legendary city of Edoras and gazed in wonder at the great hall of Meduseld.
But these are troubled times for his beloved Rohan. Grimberg will help hold back the tide of the White Hand to the bitter end.

Four rather over-levelled Flaming Halfings ventured into the Halls of Crafting to complete some unfinished business.

Iorbars Peak

Runekeeper Zeshac, Guardian Colzarak and Captain Grimberg's first attempt to rescue the stolen eagle egg ended in a large omelette as Grimberg couldn't defeat the Powerkeg Dwarfs in time! So we switched roles with Grimberg as healer and Zeshac as Dourhand damage dealer. This worked really well. Grimberg is considering boosting his healing capability (SoW & To Arms legacies & Hytbold Healing set) so the Flaming Halflings can adopt this option more often as the RK has better DPS than the Captain (well who doesn't?).

Its all gone quiet

Sorry for the lack of posts but I am having lots of trouble with Blogger while editing posts at the moment. I suspect I might need to rebuild the blog :(.

I have tried using Live Writer for offline editing but the formatting doesn't match the published post.

Any advice from follow bloggers for the best way forward would be most welcome, either for offline editing or replatforming (wordpress.com maybe)?

Spoon shortage in Michel Delving

Crafters are out in force to take advantage of the XP that can be had. The demand for spoons has rocketed forcing one resourceful crafter (Moonwen) to resort to using her club instead. Could this lead to some interesting new flavours, Blueberry and Orc Brain Muffins anyone? No perhaps not.

Floribunda visited her favourite crafting spot in Waymeet to brew up some Red Tea. She still can't find her teapot but she did find a spoon.

Crafting and leveling

Apeljack the Yeoman heard from Danania there was XP to be gained from crafting but it might be reduced soon so he rushed to the fields and then to the oven to get as much in as he could. He went from level 15 to level 20 with a couple of hours hard work and was very pleased with himself.

Metalsmith Folflorin and Jeweller Floribunda also dug out their stockpile of materials to take advantage.

On a less heroic note Woodworker Florandir looked at the mountain of wood he would need to get Westfold Mastery and, I am embarrassed to say, took the easy way out and bought the tier from the store. Can you see his blushes?

Apelred L77

Apelred the Explorer has returned to questing so he can gather some resources for his low level crafting friends while the XP gained is worthwhile for them. In the pics Nona and Apel see off a Nazgul only for him to return and burn Langhold. Apel fled to Harwick where he was gifted the Thanes warsteed.

IT nightmare makes time for The Guild

It is an IT workers nightmare when 'routine' maintenance causes service to be unavailable, been there and got that badge. So I hope the tired out turbine troubleshooters can get to the root cause and put things in place to reduce the chances of a repeat (it never goes away).

I took advantage of the down time to catch up on Series 3, 4 and 5 of The Guild. Fantastic & hilarious.

Sammath Gul Level 80 - Ouch

The Flaming Halflings attempted the newly restructured Sammath Gul instance at level 80 with a group of 5, non-raid gear level 79 to 85. The first few rooms were OK only if we managed the ranged attackers, we wiped a few times finding this out. Then we got to the first boss Urchir. We read the guide and cleared the room first, the group with the Brute defeated Grimberg and the tank Colzarak, but a bit of fancy footwork from hunter Findo allowed the Zeshac and Stuball to finish them off.
So with the room cleared we huddled in the left corner as Colzarak brought Urchir over. We wiped in about 20 seconds! Hits of nearly 4k were common. On our 4th attempt we didn't huddle together and got that up to about 3 minutes before wiping, then we retreated to lick our wounds, repair our gear and make sure we go with 6 next time!

Dark Delvings

The Flaming Halflings manage to complete the Dark Delvings now most level in their 80's even though we lost our main healer in the last boss fight with Girvand and Grimberg had to take over healing duties.
